Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, part of the Cover Missouri coalition, is working to educate Missourians on new rules and the options available through the Missouri Health Insurance Marketplace.

Selecting the right plan can be confusing to many people. Hannibal Regional can help community members find the right plan for their healthcare needs and budget.  “We know health insurance is hard. It can be confusing to anyone – even those with experience being covered. We want to let uninsured Missourians know that, free of charge, we are here to help guide them through the process of choosing the right plan, finding financial help and getting covered.” notes Serena Brown, Enrollment and Outreach Coordinator with Hannibal Regional Healthcare System.

Last year, nearly 254,000 Missourians got covered – 90 percent of whom qualified for financial help. But there are additional Missouri residents who need coverage and may not know they can achieve it.  All plans offered in the Marketplace cover 10 essential healthcare services, such as medicines, hospital stays and doctor visits -  and all include a free yearly check-up.

Missouri residents can learn more and get free, in-person by calling 800-466-3213 or Serena Brown at 573-629-7922.

Cover Missouri Coalition

Hannibal Regional Healthcare System and other groups from across Missouri are convening as the Cover Missouri Coalition, a project of the Missouri Foundation for Health to promote quality, affordable health coverage for every Missourian. Members work to build awareness, facilitate enrollment, increase health insurance literacy, and support Medicaid transformation because they share the vision of reducing the number of uninsured in Missouri. Through this initiative, Coalition members share knowledge and best practices, maximize educational resources, identify challenges and opportunities, and build inclusive plans to insure more Missourians.

At covermissouri.org, you can find helpful information on health insurance, coverage options in the Missouri Health Insurance Marketplace, calculate potential cost-savings, and locate where to get in-person help from Cover Missouri Coalition members.
